The General in charge of the English effort in WWII

who worked with Churchill ( Marshall's counterpart)

was also very depressed and highstrung and the only activity that relieved him from his pressures was

birdwatching. Anyone who wanted to break thru his reserve had only to give him a book on birding.

I'm a huge fan of LL's show, but he just gave some serious misinformation on his comments about this birdwatching woman. He discredited Linus Pauling's recommendation that by taking mega quantities of vitamin C., you can cure cancer. My father did this and other alternative therapies when he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins Lymphoma which was in an advanced stage with lymph nodes affected throughout his body. His oncologist gave him a 50/50 chance of survival with chemo and radiation. He chose alternative therapies. Of course his oncologist said. "You are going to die!" At the time my father was 7. He is now 90 and sharp and active. Doctors regularly marvel

at how healthy and vital he is, when he tells themhis

cancer story they tell him "I don't believe in alternative

therapy." Well, good for them, but for my father is living proof. I'm sure his doctor would be thrilled to give Leonard Lopate an alternative view, in addition to facts and figures.
