The Other Bonaparte

Monday, February 23, 2009

Relatives of powerful people can often be a source of controversy (think Roger Clinton and Neil Bush) and Napoleon Bonaparte's sister, Pauline, was no exception. She had notorious love affairs, wore opulent jewels and clothing and posed nearly nude for Canova’s sculpture of her. Acclaimed biographer Flora Fraser illuminates the charmed life of Napoleon’s favorite sister in Pauline Bonaparte: Venus of Empire.

Event: Flora Fraser will be reading and signing books
Tuesday, February 24, at 12:30 pm
Idlewild Books
12 West 19th Street, near Fifth Avenue
