Le Corbusier: A Difficult Personality
Swiss architect Le Corbusier was one of the most influential of all modernists and helped lay the groundwork for 20th century architecture. Le Corbusier's architecural style is most often criticized by people who have not looked closely at his work. His urban plans included a LOT of public spaces and parks - in the middle of high rise complexes. Compared to today's tightly packed island of Manhattan, Le Corbusier's vision is a breath of fresh air.
If only we had all the parks and public spaces he'd planned.
