Underreported: Forensics of Torture

Thursday, December 04, 2008

Dr. Rajeev Bais and Dr. Lars Beattie describe the physical scars torture leaves, and how they use those scars to corroborate asylum seekers’ stories of torture. They're co-founders of Elmhurst Hospital’s Libertas Human Rights Clinic in Queens.

-- Kudos for bringing attention to great work. (One nitpick... your guests were more even handed in their criticism for the state of GA than your thinly veiled dislike for Saxby C. )

I'm trying to find the Human Rights Clinic, but when I call Elmhurst Hospital, no one there seems to have heard of it. Anyone know how I might be able to get in touch with Dr. Bias or Dr. Beattie? I run a theater company that creates theater by, for and about underserved communities, and their community certainly fits that bill. You can find out that I'm a legit person by visiting: sandicarroll.com or mudbone.org. Thank you!
