The Morning After
Time magazine's Swampland contributor Ana Marie Cox helps us dissect last night’s results and the morning after.
Also: we talk to journalists who participated in our States of the Union series to talk about down-ticket races and why some states did or didn’t turn out the way they were supposed to. Adam C. Smith is political editor for the St. Petersburg Times in Florida; Jo Mannies is regional political correspondent for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch in Missouri. Lynn Bartels is political and legislative reporter for Colorado's Rocky Mountain News. Dan Walters is political columnist for the Sacramento Bee.

He is white, 50%.
Why do journalists and analysts feel the need to state how a major candidate needs to govern based upon the fact that they actually won? Especially for Democrats to govern from the center.
If people voted for change, voted for Obama because of the failing economy or if they didn't cow to fear-mongering about Obama being a socialist/ terrorist/foreigner, how does that translate into people wanting another centrist Democrat.
Sure he needs to work with dissenting voices within his party and Republicans. Why does that have to be centrist?
It's hardly imaginable that what happened last night could ever happen in any other part of the world. Will Europe ever allow a person of color to assend to the role of Prime Minister? A Person of Color as POPE!?!
From the Marshall Plan, Candy Bombers, Economic bailout of Mexico, Peace in Northern Island & intervention in Kosovo; yet another reason to be proud to be an American!!
CA: Should have stated "Civil Unions" - it would have passed.
Can Palin legally keep the clothes?
