What the World Thinks of the U.S.A.

Wednesday, October 22, 2008

Find out what 17,000 people in 17 countries across the world think about the U.S. – who they’d like to see in the White House in January, the global issues they care about most, and how they perceive America. Carl Cannon is also Washington Bureau Chief for Reader’s Digest magazine, which has conducted its first Global Presidential Poll.

On the Reader's Digest website, which has presented results quite well, I am unable to find any information regarding numbers question or margin of error (though Mr. Canon did mention 3% on air).

What explains India? Could it be the huge tensions between Muslim and Hindu? The tension with Pakistan?

obama and hillary mention 'green jobs' a lot on the campaign trail, so the economy is [finally] becoming the environment in the popular political culture via this years' campaign.

the current administration has tried to separate it for obvious reasons - oil, and the obvious problems it has with a 19th/20th century industrial economy having to cope with a 21st century globalized economy that acknowledges that this world has limited resources, and that 'manifest destiny' is total bs.

On the worldwide polls: based on internet and telephone polls! In India? This isn't serious. Fewer than 10% of the Indian population has access to phones and internet. Fewer than 5% know English.

    (4) Do you think b/c some countries dont speak a great deal of english that they aren't following this election? Do you think that there's no translating of an election this monumental, when the entire world is in dire financial crisis and the catalysts is the american economic situation? And he also said they polled door to door.Pay Attention!
