  I think the question should be "How Cheney shaped the presidency?"

  He was vastly more experienced than Bush in every aspect of governance. Why isn't he running for president currently? Most VPs run for head office after their term has ended?......Because Cheney was our president for the last 8 years.

  The Veep? or the Creep? Quite an ominous visage. Which reminds me of a great line by Robert Pinsky as read on the Colbert Report during the awesome Meta-Free-Phor all with Sean Penn:

  whether the Vice Presidency is situated in the Executive or Legislative branch?

  Cheney himself is a "luxury" (cough, cough) the nation cannot afford.

  Why "Angler: The Cheney Vice Presidency" instead of "Anger: The Cheney Vice Presidency" ?

  To fail to hold Bush, Cheney and others legally accountable for their crimes will mean the ultimate ruination of the United States as a nation with a hope for a return to the _possibility_ to one day become free and democratically based.

  It does seem like the war was to help us secure the Middle East, the source of so much oil. I believe there was predictions that oil would go to $10/barrel with our new Iraq partner ramping up production. Instead we've seen it go to $147 and now precipitously "down" to $93.

  What supreme arrogance and absolute hubris: nice work, Cheney!

  I guess he was shocked and the world awed by the Iraqi insurgency.

  With regard to secrecy, Barton Gellman either has a security clearance, or he has broken the law, OR he is taking it on faith that some of the administration kept secret was justifiably kept so.

  Much of Gellman's other tepid comments fly in the face of what others have reported. Who was it who reported that Cheney took the most minimal standard for justifiability? That all the US need to justify attack or secrecy or whatever was the whiff of suspicion?

  Gellman sounds less like an investigative reporter than a polite biographer -- sadly, in keeping with the sad excuse for coverage that has passed for journalism at the Washington Post.
