Does Mr Schieffer think Obama is being swiftboated as is being suggested by the Wash Post?
Leonard - the list is bogus, but she did ask the librarian how to go about banning books. Please ask Bob if he thinks she should be asked what books she wanted banned and why.
In case it helps, this is from CBS's website: Time reported last week, for example, that Palin asked the Wasilla librarian, Mary Ellen Baker, about the process for banning books. Baker was reportedly "aghast" at the question. Soon after taking office, Palin, according to a New York Times report, fired Baker, and news reports from the time indicate that Palin thought Baker hadn't done enough to give her "full support" to the mayor.
Palin reversed course on Baker's dismissal after a local outcry, and later said the discussions about banning books were "rhetorical."

Can you address the fact that it seems that only the blogs actually _ASK_ the pertinent questions? The MSM no longer seems to do that (cf. "All The Presidents Men" -- would that even happen nowadays? Not likely.) While it is a tired trope that the MSM have been co-opted by those in power, it's sadly true. Look at the demotion of Olberman recently. Those who challenge the status quo are quickly shunted aside. So, while there may be excesses, the blogosphere are the last bastion of honest reporting (with, perhaps the notable exception of Seymour Hersh). Why do you chuckle when your guest says they are a "mental health outlet". Does no-one really care anymore?
2 billion dollars .. hmmm dosn't that create an incentive for the media to try to manipulate the run up to the election in order to increase their share of the monies spent on these elections. There seems to be a possible conflict of interest here
