  I think we have no idea who is making hteir cases how - so much distortion in teh media - washingtonmonthly.com has an interesting way of interpreting teh polls.

  Palin's daughter - I think they are spinning this well - remember Corinne Quayle? (Dan gave her compassion/choice, her mother stridently insisted she would carry her hypothetical child to term.

  Is Sarah Palin at raising that special needs baby? Is she really Sarah No Show or handing her child to someone else because she has teh means to do so?

  Sarah Palin would insist her daughter carry a rapist's baby to term.

  somebody should let mr. lopate know that there are no stories in circulation in which obama stands accused of screaming obscenities at fellow senators like mccain has apparently done on numerous occasions. all things are not equal in spite of the scrupulously inane belief system at nyc. just because mccain has been accused of something it doesn't mean the same thing has to be true of obama. mccain has a very bad temper and it's known to many. there's even a creepy video on youtube where a times reporter gets a remarkably nasty response from mccain after a fairly innocuous question.

  Your 1st caller talks of Palin living what she speaks or whatever and I can't agree with that. Preaching abstinence and living with pregnant teen don't seem to equate. A point my wife made was how is Palin going to take care of her own infant while serving as Vice President? We have a hard enough time taking care of 3 kids with both of us working regular jobs. So much for family and family values. I understand she will have help but she will not be able to spend a lot of time tending to the needs of a baby under 1 while serving as VP. Maybe her work load has something to do with her 17 year old getting pregnant as well. Last point, knowing that your 17 year old daughter is pregnant, and knowing that she is going to be under the extreme microscope and the pressure that comes with the election process, and still accepting the VP nod shows poor judgement as a parent. Conservative family values??? It's amazing how the Repubs turn these things in to assets, or at least try to!

  Not preaching and living...rather teach and support, vastly different ideals. I tell my children it's their life, they make their own decisions, and have to cope with consequences. It's plain to see the Palins must deal with the same issues all parents must face. They are hardly immune to the human nature. It's their opportunity to illustrate the depth of their convictions. Their workload surely effects their life, as with everyone. Only Palin and her husband know how they can/will proceed with a special needs child and assist a new young mother. They demonstrate to the world that we all face the consequence of our actions regardless of race, creed or pay grade. We need to get away from the issue of race and move on together. The selfish solution has become status quo. I applaud McCain and Palin heralding sacrifice. Country First. Nobility is no longer the province of Royalty. Try to appreciate being open to life in all it's forms. It may not fit neatly within the margins of your utopia but not everything can be tied up neatly by the end of a show. Life goes on...thanks for the show/forum!
