Stem Cells and the White House

In August 2001, President George W. Bush effectively banned research on human embryonic stem cells. Since then, Congresswoman Diana DeGette, of Colorado’s First Congressional District, has fought the ban, as well as the general politicization of science and sex by the Bush administration and the religious right. Her new book is Sex, Science, and Stem Cells.

Majority of people who are against abortion and pro-life are also people ready to cheer their president while bombing another country and killing thousands of babies and children. I asume "pro life" means "pro American life".
It would be nice if they offered financial and other help to women who are considering abortion. They offer them empty words and accusations.
And let's don't forget that big chunk of pro-lifers are men!
I think it was George Carlin who suggested that the fundies have non-stem-cell hospitals, and the rest of us will have stem-cell hospitals. I wonder how quickly Bush and Cheney will ask for stem-cell treatments if it would save their lives.
why not this great lady for veep? I have never heard of her, but let her talk a little to the American people and they will be persuaded!
I know their are Cornell labs on the UES adjacent to churches not allowed to use stem cells. This is absurdity.
Too bad I can't vote for Diana here in NJ. With more people like her, the approval rate or Congress would be higher than 15%.
Second best option after voting is to buy her book. I will do it right now.
