Dogsled Expedition to the Canadian Arctic

Wednesday, June 04, 2008

Explorer Will Steger completed the first confirmed dogsled journey to the North Pole without re-supply in 1986. Now, with Sam Branson, he’s just returned from the Global Warming 101 Expedition, a dogsled journey across the Canadian Arctic to study the effects of global warming on polar bears in the Arctic.

    "Global Warming Movement"!!

    This isn't science, this religion.

These sort of lax allegations and boosterism are why so many are turned off or outright skeptical.

These guys will do nothing to convince those sitting on the fence.

Three cheers to Will for helping engage students, particularly -- the generation whose climate is most at stake -- in the first step: simply absorbing the wonders of the world's remote places, particularly the Arctic, which has been so ice-locked for so long we kind of took it for granted. -- Andy Revkin, nytimes.com/dotearth
