Jumpcuts - because the producers thought that the films were too long. Gutsy. Also no one as ever been better with primary colors.
Norman Mailer said that Godard was the "third worst person he had ever met." Insight into this and the casting of Mailer in King Lear would be interesting.

"I don't know if I'm unhappy because I'm not free, or if I'm not free because I'm unhappy."
"Two things are important in life: for men, women; for women, money."
"What is your greatest ambition in life?"

J' adore le cinema de jean Luc Godard! I have attended each of the Godard films projected so far at Film Forum and will continue through the month of May.
I love the way Godard has managed to make films that are playful and serious, personal and political. He's my favorite filmmaker and I had the good luck to run into him twice in NYC, totally by accident! I have a picture of one of those meetings in my facebook photo album. If you'd like to see it, ask to be my facebook friend!
