Jean-Luc Godard was one of the most important filmmakers of the 20th century, and was a leader of the French New Wave. New Yorker editor and film critic Richard Brody weaves together Godard’s films, personal life, and intellectual history in his new book, Everything Is Cinema: The Working Life of Jean-Luc Godard.

    Jumpcuts - because the producers thought that the films were too long. Gutsy. Also no one as ever been better with primary colors.

    Norman Mailer said that Godard was the "third worst person he had ever met." Insight into this and the casting of Mailer in King Lear would be interesting.

    J' adore le cinema de jean Luc Godard! I have attended each of the Godard films projected so far at Film Forum and will continue through the month of May.

    I love the way Godard has managed to make films that are playful and serious, personal and political. He's my favorite filmmaker and I had the good luck to run into him twice in NYC, totally by accident! I have a picture of one of those meetings in my facebook photo album.
