Check out wikipedia on the subject of Ich bin ein Berliner. According to them, it really wasn't a faux pas, among other reasons, because jelly donuts aren't called Berliners in Berlin. Though they are in much of the rest of Germany.
The President knew what he was doing, Ted. I have full faith and confidence in you as well. I love hearing you talk.
Please tell Mr. Sorenson that every time I hear his speeches I wonder what ever happened to subsequent politicians. I hear a bit of Kennedy in Obama, and listen to both of these men's speeches as works of art.
Sorensen has been doing a bit of speech-writing for Obama as well. He was an early Obama supporter and made the JFK comparison. Sorensen should know.
