All eyes are on Ohio and Texas for their March 4 primaries, but Rhode Island is voting on that day too. Rhode Island’s biggest industry is health care and we find out whether health care reform is a major issue there. States of the Union fact of the week: The official name of Rhode Island is State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations – the smallest state in the country has one of the longest state names, thereby stumping cartographers for generations to come.

Bush has the lowest favorability in Rhode Island. They are probably among the best informed and educated people. Just a hunch.
Chafee is very decent man, from a time when Republicans were a very different party, at least nationally. It's a shame he had to pay for the sins of Bush, although not really since he voted for Frist as leader and would have voted for McConnell, I presume.
Please do invite Lincoln Chafee to the show when his book is published. He's very impressive and I look forward to hearing more from him.
Lincoln Chaffee has long been an independent voice in a nation of partisans, a doer in a nation of talkers. Can Chaffee run as vp on a ticket with a democrat running as president?
Please don't be confused by Catholics in Rhode Island voting for pro-choice candidates. They, like many, are just not yet well-informed about this, and are not in union with the Church's teaching. The Vatican is making more well known that the Catholic teaching is that there is a hierarchy of issues, abortion and euthanasia on the top tier. And Catholics really can't vote for people who promote these practices. This will be more evident during the Holy Father's trip in April.
