There are more than 80 million blogs on the internet, with many new ones popping up every day. Sarah Boxer of the New York Times has sorted through some of the best for her new book, Ultimate Blogs: Masterworks from the Wild Web. Joining her are bloggers Alex Ross (therestisnoise.com) and Jennie Portnof (johnny i hardly knew you – jihky.blogspot.com).

Nrityagram: Classical Indian Dance

The Nrityagram Dance Ensemble of India was established in 1990 to preserve India’s 2,000-year-old classical dance traditions. Surupa Sen is artistic director and choreographer; Bijayini Satpathy is a soloist.

Peter Carey’s Latest Novel

Booker Prize-winner Peter Carey’s latest novel is His Illegal Self. The protagonist is Che Selkirk, the precocious young son of 1960s radicals.

Milos Forman: A 17-Film Retrospective

Filmmaker Milos Forman looks back on his long and varied career, from films like "Amadeus," "Hair," and "One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest" to more obscure TV work in his native Czechoslovakia. Forman’s films are currently being shown in a 17-film retrospective at MoMA.
