I was startled to hear you ask that since the "Egyptians" in the film were dark skinned, wouldn't they have stood out (against a presumably lighter skinned population)? In Israel, you cannot look at someone, and based on skin color, decide if they are Arab or Jewish. Israel is a mixture of many ethnicities. Nearly 1 in 4 Israeli CITIZENS are Arab, primarily Muslim. Large numbers of Jews are dark skinned. Many Jews left Arab states (such as Egypt, Iraq, and Iran) to move to Israel. There are darker skinned Jews from Yemen and black Jews from Ethiopia. Just like NYC, there is a broad array of ethnicities and religion, and they are all citizens of Israel.
