Also: States of the Union looks into the issues Nevada's voters care about as they head into their caucus. A new play, "Seven," about extraordinary women working for change. And Please Explain is all about our delegate system. Guest host Jonathan Capehart sits in for Leonard.

Israel and Palestine, 2001-2006: What Went Wrong

The Israeli-Palestinian peace process has been majorly derailed in recent years. French journalist Charles Enderlin looks at what went wrong, from the failed Camp David negotiations, to the Israel-Lebanon conflict in 2006. His new book is The Lost Years.

States of the Union: Nevada

With all eyes on Nevada in the days before the state’s January 19 caucus, States of the Union looks into which issues matter to Silver State voters. Nevada is one of the fastest-growing states, and it has been hit hard by the mortgage crisis. We look at how the candidates have addressed issues important to Nevada -- including the economy, water rights and land use. Molly Ball is a reporter at the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

“Seven,” A Play About Women Making Change

"Seven" is a documentary theatre piece based on the real-life stories of seven extraordinary women from around the world who overcame adversity to advocate for change.

Carol Mack and Susan Yankowitz are the playwrights. Inez McCormack of Northern Ireland is one of the women profiled in "Seven" - she’s an activist for women’s and human rights, labor, and social justice. She now chairs a program, the Participation and Practice of Rights Project, that helps the disadvantaged access resources and services in Ireland, both North and South.

Please Explain: Delegates

This year’s batch of presidential hopefuls are fighting over delegates as much as they’re fighting over voters. On Please Explain, find out who the delegates are, how the system works, and what superdelegates are.

Stephen Wayne is Professor of Government at Georgetown University and author of The Road to the White House: 2008. Elaine Kamarck of Harvard's Kennedy School of Government is currently a superdelegate, and previously was a superdelegate in 1984. She was an advisor to President Clinton and an advisor to the Al Gore presidential campaign.

Tributes: Jeanne-Claude

The Leonard Lopate Show

Jeanne-Claude created environmental works of art with her husband and fellow-conspirator/collaborator Christo. Together, they wrapped the Reichstag in Berlin, the Pont-Neuf in Paris, and created The Gates, with billowy orange drapes, in Central Park. Jeanne-Claude just died at the age of 74. You can hear Leonard Lopate’s last interview with them both, from July 19, 1999.

Please Explain: Eco-Labels

The Leonard Lopate Show

Your broccoli, shampoo, and air conditioner might bear labels declaring them to be organic, cruelty-free, or energy efficient, but what do those labels mean and are they true? Dr. Urvashi Rangan, Project Director for Consumer Reports' GreenerChoices.org and Consumers Union’s Senior Scientist for Policy Initiatives, and Dara O'Rourke, founder and CEO of GoodGuide.com, took a look at what eco-labels indicate, how standards are set, and what they mean for consumers and manufacturers around the world.
