The Federal Election Commission (FEC), the agency that administers and enforces campaign finance laws, has essentially shut down due to a shortage of commissioners. We’ll look into the reasons behind the shortage, why the Senate has been in a stalemate over commissioner nominees, and what it could mean for the presidential campaigns if the FEC impasse isn’t resolved soon.

Ask them to explain how the Bush admin. had two Republicans register as Independent so they could stack the commission. Also, they should explain Hans von Spakowsky's activities.
when 527 groups get fined, is there any real recourse or do they merely close and open in another form?
If an attempt to close 527's is made, most likely they'll forfeit tax exemption, removing them from the definition of a 527.
