Pesticides are known to harm wildlife, cause reproductive abnormalities, and are even associated with multiple forms of cancer in humans. More and more exterminators are trying out non-chemical substances like sugar to control common household pests. Jonathan Kaplan works with the Natural Resources Defense Council; Luis Agurto Sr. is an exterminator and owner of San Francisco-based pest control company Pestec.
