I wonder what the guest might think of the idea once proposed by a very bright professor I had that The Prince is actually satire?

Am confused. Author said "end justifies means," and "end" for Machiavelli was good government. How can you get good government out of a bad process? Government is process.

eCAHNomics, no one said Machiavelli's conclusions were necessarily right.

I find it interesting how one man had many functions in government, entertainment, and society. One may think that Machiavelli was up to his neck in work. I don't understand how his hobby (writing) didn't interfere with his social and work responsibilities.
