Bill and Hillary Clinton worked together more closely during their eight years in the White House than the public ever knew, according to biographer Sally Bedell Smith. In her new book For Love of Politics, she explores the intricacies of the Clinton marriage, and draws on previously unavailable papers and testimonies from scores of insiders and officials.

The Age of Rembrandt at the Met
The Metropolitan Museum has the finest collection of Dutch art outside of Europe, including 20 works by Rembrandt himself. Curator Walter Liedtke has put all 228 of these Dutch masterpieces together for the first time in the new exhibition, “The Age of Rembrandt: Dutch Paintings in The Metropolitan Museum of Art.”

Shooting Pool with the Last Great American Hustler
Legendary pool hustler Kid Delicious started out as an overweight and unhappy teenager from New Jersey. Sports Illustrated writer L. Jon Wertheim explores how that teenager became Kid Delicious as he traveled through America’s billiard halls beating up the competition. Wertheim’s new book is Running the Table.

Underreported: Selective Justice in Alabama
In 2006, Alabama’s Democratic Governor Don Siegelman was convicted of corruption charges, and he was sentenced to 7 years in prison. But top Alabama Republicans involved in the same scandal were not investigated or prosecuted. On Underreported, Adam Zagorin, a journalist for Time magazine, talks about what happened, and whether Karl Rove may have been involved.

Tributes: Jeanne-Claude
The Leonard Lopate Show
Jeanne-Claude created environmental works of art with her husband and fellow-conspirator/collaborator Christo. Together, they wrapped the Reichstag in Berlin, the Pont-Neuf in Paris, and created The Gates, with billowy orange drapes, in Central Park. Jeanne-Claude just died at the age of 74. You can hear Leonard Lopate’s last interview with them both, from July 19, 1999.
