you guys are the best! Interesting is this mold thing - i live in a philip johnson bldg on roosevelt island (everybody's on the water) and if i try to make kvas or kombucha in my kitchen, it is blanketed with mold in no time (kvas esp)

i read somewhere that drywall is a culprit - mold trap

    any suggestions?

I live in a small frame house, built in 1923 (with consequent cracks in ceilings etc).

A triple lot construction is about to happen right next door, and I'm very very concerned about damage I might suffer as a result. Do you recommend getting someone (who?) to check out house beforehand, so if the ceiling falls I have documentation.

    Thanks

I have an old boiler with few pipes covered with asbestos insulation. Is it possible rather than removal to cover said insulation with aluminum tape or something of the sort (to contain it) then cover all the pipes with fiberglass insulation.

    thanks
