Joy Behar on Coping With Life’s Challenges

Wednesday, September 26, 2007

Joy Behar, co-host of ABC’s “The View,” doesn’t have any advice of her own to dispense. Instead, she offers brief personal essays from more than 100 of her best friends including Tony Danza, Barbara Bush, and Larry King. The advice in When You Need a Lift ranges from the simple to the profound, and from the silly to the serious.

When I need a lift, I either spend hours in my garden or I cook. Doing something creative that's also physical seems to chase away the blues.

    Leonard,

I know your laugh, and it was a total give-a-way that you enjoyed Joy - the photo I had seen first showed you looking at her very appreciatively. Then listening to the podcast, I heard the "Lopate Laugh" - the voice is a pure indicator of feeling. You LOVE architecture and you like Joy.
