Rudy Crew on Saving Our Schools
It’s been six years since the passage of No Child Left Behind. America spends billions each year on education. And yet, one-third of our eighth-graders can’t do basic math, and only 60% of our 10-year olds can read. Rudy Crew, former Chancellor of New York City schools and currently Superintendent of the Miami-Date County schools, has his own vision of what must be done. In Only Connect, he lays out his business-centered and community-based strategies.

if schools were run like a business, their goal would be to make a profit. which is exactly NOT what the they are supposed to be doing...notice how well are health care system is doing, while being run for profit.
