    Gordon Wood's "Radicalism of the American Revolution" portrays the revolution primarily as a social upheaval, resulting in some egalatarian reforms.

    Charles and Mary Beard's "Economic Interpretation of the United States Constitution" argues the revolution was far from revolutionary and was in essence one landowning class separating itself from another, with most normal 'Americans' playing little role.

    I wonder if the author considers the French or Russian Revolutions actual "people's" revolutions, or if they resemble in many respects the American conflict? Just curious...
