Innovations in HIV/AIDS Treatment in Soweto

Thursday, June 14, 2007

Glennis Mabuza, aka "Mama G," is a nurse who has helped to transform the way HIV/AIDS is thought about and dealt with in Soweto. She's community project manner with HIV South Africa (HIVSA), and has created psychosocial programs to help Sowetans deal with their AIDS status. She spoke last night at an event with former President Bill Clinton, where both were being honored by the American Jewish World Service. She'll tell us how efforts to increase ARV (anti-retroviral)treatment has affected her community.
