I am still steaming over the on-air cell phone call that Martin Short took on your program. It was the height of rudeness both to you and your listeners. This tops every other outrageous cell phone story I have ever heard or experienced. Was he trying to prove to your audience what a "big shot" he is in that he gets calls from important people? I will never again watch or listen to him in any medium in which he performs.

P.S. Leonard, aside from Mr. Short, I love your program. I continue to be in awe of your great skills and knowlege as an on-air host.

I'm not crazy about Martin Short's schtick, but I didn't think the phone thing was so bad. Stuff happens, no? Certainly doesn't "top every other outrageous cell phone story I have ever heard" (as the previous commenter wrote). I've heard worse on the crosstown bus. Martin Short has a neat ring tone!

I was so glad that you interviewed Martin Short. His talent is large. So what if his movies rate a "B"? When it's improv, he is fab-- probably why he makes such a good interview.

Now, about the phone call. I thought it was just some of his wackiness. So much of what you discussed was about improv, this seemed self-referent, and appropriate. Rude? They missed the point.

I'm already a fan of Mr. Short. He made a convert of me when he had a talk show and had his friend David Spade on. I never saw DS sooo uncomfortable in my life, which told me that I was seeing the real thing. This told me that MS was the real thing, able to get DS stop his BS.
