Please ask Diana about the Mormon background of her family. I understand that Judy's grandfather was a Mormon convert who was killed for his religion near the family home in Florida.

But not all his children followed him into the Mormon Church. Was Judy's father one that didn't follow him?

BTW, another Canova, George, was one of the co-founders of Novell

Judy Canova starred opposite Phil Silvers in the Broadway musical "Yokel Boy" (1939-40) In it she introduced a song still performed occasionally by cabaret and jazz artists, "Comes Love" (Nothing can be done) She also did a song that explains sibling rivalry better than Freud, "Slap Her Down Again Pa, Slap Her Down Again".

I love to listen to your show because of the intelligent questions and intelligent answers, such as those today. This guest was a stitch, and a wonder from an unusual and excellent part of our national artistic fabric. Thanks again.

Back in the '70s I was an avid "Soap" viewer, and Diana Canova just completely enchanted me. Even today, watching "Soap" on DVD, I am just spellbound when she appears.

While listening (as usual) to Leonard's show, it slowly dawned on me to whom he was talking, and a flood of nostalgia engulfed me.

Thanks for the memories, and as usual the great insights gained from Leonard's interviews.
