How Pakistan is Helping the Taliban

Journalist and businesswoman Sarah Chayes says that Pakistan is largely to blame for the reemergence of the Taliban in Afghanistan – and that the Bush administration has been far too gentle with Pakistan. Her recent article, "Days of Lies and Roses," is in the Boston Review.

    My husband and I are both Australians resident in NY for the past seven years.We still wonder what happened to the critical faculties of the media at the time Bush decided to go to war in Iraq and we still don't have an answer.This topic could do with some more attention in my view.Great show today,thanks.

    Agree, when Sarah spoke about how the media checked out after 9/11 it made me remember about how that was the one time we actually needed them to buck up and play their constitutional role. I don't blame her for turning her back and becoming a business person instead. She's getting more done now, not to mention her ability to report by actually getting out and talking to actual humans on a personal basis. That she informs us in this way is ideal for us, the listeners -- and Lenny is DA MAN.
