Multiples in the Womb

Thursday, January 11, 2007

Dr. Thomas Pinckert tells us about the latest research on how twins, triplets, and quadruplets interact in the womb. Scientists have observed multiples holding hands, kicking, and pulling on each other’s umbilical cords. These prenatal relationships, whether aggressive or submissive, may continue after birth and characterize sibling relationships for years to come. Dr. Thomas Pinckert, is an OB/GYN and expert in high definition ultrasound and high risk pregnancies. He was involved in the National Geographic special “In the Womb: Multiples.”
