Scott Simon Imagines the Life of a Sniper

Scott Simon, the host of NPR’s Weekend Edition, has written his first novel: Pretty Birds. The book’s central character is a teenage Muslim girl who becomes a sniper in Sarajevo during the early 1990s—when Scott Simon was covering the siege for NPR.
