    Dangerous Subjects

Journalist Sean Naylor shares his eyewitness account of military failures in Afghanistan during Operation Anaconda. Then, filmmaker Werner Herzog discusses his new documentary, “Grizzly Man.” Finally, Philip Short unravels the disturbing events in the life of one of the century's bloodiest dictators--Pol Pot.

Operation Anaconda

Award-winning journalist Sean Naylor details what went wrong during Operation Anaconda—the 2002 battle in Afghanistan that he argues could have destroyed Al Qaeda and captured Osama bin Laden. He offers his eyewitness account in Not a Good Day to Die.

Grizzly Man

German filmmaker Werner Herzog has faced many dangerous situations in the course of his career. And he’s even claimed that he’d be willing to die for some of his movies. In his latest documentary, “Grizzly Man,” he looks at the life of another man who was willing to die for his passion: environmentalist and grizzly bear enthusiast Timothy Treadwell.

Anatomy of a Nightmare

Pol Pot was one of the most secretive Communist leaders. So secretive, in fact, that for quite some time, almost no one knew he led the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia. In Pol Pot: Anatomy of a Nightmare, Philip Short looks at the life the man responsible for the deaths of one-fifth of Cambodia’s population in just three years.

Chemist and industrial hygienist Monona Rossol, President and Founder of Arts, Crafts & Theater Safety, took a look at what all these new substances are, where they are coming from, and how they affect our health.
