Filmmaker Lucy Massie Phenix and Vietnam veterans Rusty Sachs and Kenneth Campbell look back on their participation in the 1971 documentary “Winter Soldier,” a film that documented the testimony of 125 Vietnam veterans who described the war crimes and horrors they saw on duty.

In this week’s Please Explain feature, we look at crystal methamphetamine and how it affects people who use it.
Leonard talks to Carl L. Hart, Assistant Professor of Clinical Neuroscience in the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University, and a Research Scientist in the Division of Substance Abuse at the New York State Psychiatric Institute; as well as Jeffrey Parsons, Associate Professor of Psychology, and Director of the Center for HIV Educational Studies and Training at Hunter College.

Tributes: Jeanne-Claude
The Leonard Lopate Show
Jeanne-Claude created environmental works of art with her husband and fellow-conspirator/collaborator Christo. Together, they wrapped the Reichstag in Berlin, the Pont-Neuf in Paris, and created The Gates, with billowy orange drapes, in Central Park. Jeanne-Claude just died at the age of 74. You can hear Leonard Lopate’s last interview with them both, from July 19, 1999.
