Born to Sing the Gospel
Monday, August 01, 2005
Gospel music expert Anthony Heilbut tells us about a new collection of Marion Williams’s solo performances from 1968 to 1992. Widely recognized as one of the world’s most influential gospel singers, some fans and critics argue that her four-octave vocal range and her ability to sing the blues make her the most powerful singer of all time. The new compilation is called “Remember Me.”
Music:
Remember Me Shanachie/Spirit Feel Track 6: “City Called Heaven”
When Gospel Was Gospel Shanachie/Spirit Feel Track 14: “Leave it There”
