Wednesday, April 21, 2004

Jockey Chris Rosier says this of his profession: "You gotta know how to take the falls, hold the horse and it's not an easy job. There's a lot more to it than what most people think. It's not always a limelight job." He's here today along with fellow jockey Randy Romero and director Kate Davis, who has made an HBO documentary called "Jockeys."

just watched the documentary on cable. Was deeply touched as a former highschool wrestler know all about the sweat box and whirlpool and starving to make weight. And I did htis for just 3 years can't imagine a decade or more of this inhumane way of life

I save this film, and have to say, it was something else. I knew about all the stuff jockeys do, but seeing it took me back a little. I want to be a jockey, and even after seeing this film i makes me think 'im not working hard enough', i dont mean im gonna start starving myself and all, just that i not giving my all in it. I've only just started to work on reaching my goal of racing and getting my license, but this movie made me feel like i gotta work 4x harder to reach it.
