James McManus

Thursday, March 04, 2004

Novelist and poet James McManus was sent to Las Vegas by Harper's magazine to write about the annual World Series of Poker at Binion's Horseshoe. He ended up becoming part of the competition, and the result is his new memoir called Positively Fifth Street.

Events: James McManus will appear at KGB Bar (85 East 4th Street between 2nd Ave. and Bowery) on Thursday, March 4 at 7:00 PM to read from Positively Fifth Street and discuss America's current (and historical) poker obsession. This event is free and open to the public.
