Wednesday, January 23, 2013
New Yorker writer and Pulitzer Prize-winner Lawrence Wright was on the Leonard Lopate Show recently to talk about Going Clear, his book about Scientology. He also told us what he's been reading, listening to and eating. Find out what he's a fan of!
What have you read or seen over the past year (book, play, film, etc…) that moved or surprised you?
I’ve been reading B.F. Skinner’s books. He was such a vilified figure + I’ve gotten intrigued by his theories – to what end I don’t know.
What are you listening to right now?
Listening to Dr. John’s piano lessons.
What’s the last great book you read?
“Atonement” by Ian McEwan – I’m a late-comer.
What’s one thing you’re a fan of that people might not expect?
Boogie Woogie piano
[Ed. note: he warmed up for the interview by playing in our Green Room!]
What’s your favorite comfort food?
Shrimp + grits
