Guest Picks: Tommy Mottola

Thursday, February 07, 2013

Music executive Tommy Mottola was here on February 7 to talk about his memoir, Hit Maker. He shares some of his music favorites.  Find out what he's listening to!

What have you read or seen lately (book, play, film, etc...) that moved or surprised you?

Searching for Sugarman…this is a documentary that covered subject matter about someone who no one knew about ever. The filmmakers managed to tell an amazingly brilliant story and make a great movie.

What are you listening to right now?

I like to listen to classical music, opera, or Sade, or Enya, but I’m always ready for Sinatra at the Sands.

What’s the last great book you read?

The War at the Shore by Skip Bronson

What’s one thing you’re a fan of that people might not expect?

All of Bill T. Jones’ dance companies

What’s your favorite comfort food?

Believe it or not, it’s not Italian, it’s Mexican – but only the authentic stuff – my wife is from Mexico City.

I did a double take looking at your photo. If I bumped into you I would not recognize you.
All the best.
