What have you read or seen over the past year (book, play, film, etc…) that moved or surprised you?

        A Rum Affair by Karl Sabbagh. (The story of a huge botanical fraud.)

What are you listening to right now?

        Bach: Overtures (WQXR had this 2-disc Bach on one of their weekly “specials”).

What’s the last great book you read?

        A biography of W. R. Gowers, a great Victorian neurologist. Called Exploring the Victorian Brain, it’s by Ann Scott, Mervyn Eadie, and Andrew Lees, and published by Oxford University Press in England.

What’s one thing you’re a fan of that people might not expect?

        Ferns.

What’s your favorite comfort food?

        Schmulse herrings.
