Guest Picks: Dave Barry

Thursday, January 12, 2012

Dave Barry was on the Lopate Show (along with Alan Zweibel) to discuss collaborating on their novel, Lunatics. He also told us about his love of cheese and why his 11-year-old daughter is dictating what he's listening to these days.

What have you read or seen over the past year (book, play film, etc…) that moved or surprised you?

Just before Christmas I took my family to the annual holiday show at Radio City Music Hall and I was very surprised by how many dancers were present for the birth of Jesus.

What are you listening to right now?

I have an 11-year-old daughter with access to iTunes, so I'm listening to a lot of really crappy music.

What’s the last great book you read?

       "One Day"

What’s one thing you’re a fan of that people might not expect?

Show tunes. I am, for example, a huge fan of the Music Man

What's your favorite comfort food?

       Cheese.
