Guest Picks: Samantha Soule

Thursday, June 23, 2011

Samantha Soule stopped by The Leonard Lopate Show to talk about her role in the play "A Little Journey" and shared some of her favorite picks with us.

What have you read or seen over the past year that moved or surprised you?

Mark Rylance’s performance in Jerusalem, Mark Helpin’s Winter’s Tale, the entire “Cino Night” series of plays produced by Rising Phoenix Rep. (Amazing!)

What are you listening to right now?

tUnE-yArDs, Rodrigo y Gabriella, Javelin, Miles Davis’ Sketches of Spain… to name a few. And of course my NPR podcasts!

What’s the last great book you read?

Just finished Zeitoun by David Eggers.

What’s one thing you’re a fan of that people might not expect?

The Celtics.

What’s your favorite comfort food?

I was raised mostly macrobiotic – so comfort food for me would honestly be brown rice, sauted kale or swiss chard and pan seared tofu with ginger and tamari.
