Writer Christopher Hitchens died recently of complications of cancer. The Vanity Fair contributor was best known for his controversial opinions about God, women and humor, and just about everything in between. He spoke to Leonard Lopate in June 2010, shortly before he received his cancer diagnosis.

A friend of mine called him The attention whore, but I really enjoyed "The Trial of Henry Kissinger". Yeah, a powerful person on trial in USA!?

I didnt always agree with you. And there was times when your arguements raised my blood pressure. But you always spoke intelligently, passionately and with conviction. Your contributions to the human experience will be discussed for generations. You will be missed.
