Joe Blair talks about his memoir, By the Iowa Sea, an unsentimental account of a family crisis and a natural disaster. After setting aside his dreams, Joe found himself middle-aged, with four kids, including a severely autistic son, and a marriage on the rocks. His memoir is the story of the changes his family went through to stay together.

I thought this segment was a refreshing change from the usual LL fodder of rosy reminiscences of gourmet llama milk cheese and organic endive salad.
Unfortunately not surprised at the condemnation the author has received. Way too predictable. You should only have to be in his shoes.
Wow, that guy has some wife to take care of 4 needy children and a jerk like him. Oh poor baby, he needed a loving relationship and forgiveness from his wife to come back. How about personal responsibility for your children as a reason to not cheat on your wife. What a narcicist.
To My Predecessors:
Don't be so anxious to condemn. It's not a pleasant subject, but it is real life. Perhaps his life experience is a lesson we should learn from him rather than having to do it firsthand.
Why would anyone want to read this book??
I give this guy credit for turning back to his family after going astray. Freedom versus responsibility & family : Ive seen it go the other way, a father leaving a special needs child for the freedom of hunting and fishing and hardly looking back. The scars remain
This guy stinks. Next!
Uh-oh I think I would have enjoyed some time allotted to the cheese segment, instead of what is on now.
