Ben Marcus talks about his novel The Flame Alphabet, about what happens when the sound of children’s speech becomes lethal and causes an epidemic. Parents across the country are struck down by illness at the sound of their children’s voices, and many flee, leaving their children to fend for themselves.

Congratulations to Leonard and the show's producers for actually discussing a science fiction novel, although I'll go out on a limb and predict that neither the author nor Leonard will use those awful two words.
The premise sounds strikingly like the intriguing semi-zombie flick, "Pontypool," where language is the communicable virus.
Can Mr. Marcus address the differences?
