The U.S. Senate voted yesterday to keep new rules on debit card fees that were a major part of the financial reform bill championed by the Obama Administration. The vote comes after months of intense lobbying from both sides. We’ll speak with Ben Hallman, staff writer for iWatch News, an online publication of the Center for Public Integrity.

Im a merchant that carries credit cards. How about the arbitrary annual fee just created by the big credit card companies called PCI COMPLIANCE. Last year 79.00. This year 99$
Please note on the show that both New York Senators Gillibrand and Schumer voted FOR this amendment, which means they are on the record as being AGAINST regulation of credit card swipe fees.
Looking forward can you ask your guest what he thinks will happen with mobile payment companies. Right now with services like Venmo you can make small cash (under $1000.00) transfers for free with friends and vendors.
