Billy Packer, who was lead analyst for NCAA Basketball for more than three decades, Digger Phelps, Notre Dame coach from 1971 to 1991, and Bobby Knight, coach at Indiana from 1971 to 2000, where he led his teams the three NCAA championships and 11 Big Ten Conference championships, trade notes on college basketball.

Knight has no credibility. He's a creepy human-type being.
Let's be fair to Frank Deford!! Deford states that paid athletes should exist in only the big sports in SOME schools.
Colleges would support the "big sports" (usu. football, mens and womens basketball) out of the alumni organization NOT the general sports and athletics fund. Thus, there would be no Title IX impact.
I went to Rutgers and would much rather see the football team (esp. its coach!) paid out of alumni coffers rather than the state's allocation to the University. It also might bring my sport, fencing, back to campus so I could go see some matches.
It ought to bring men's swimming and diving, men's crew and men's tennis back on campus, too. A state university and Division One school that has no opportunities for their student-athletes to pursue higher competition AND stay in their home state is an insult.
Pitt starters: 3 seniors, 2 juniors
University of Pittsburgh has largely avoided the "one and done" phenomenon, becoming one of the best D-I basketball program in the country under Jamie Dixon over the last 10 years. Go Pitt...
i don't give a poop about bob knights record. he has shown himself to be a derranged person over the years. funny, how when we talk, about role models in athletics,we don't, get much mention of this guy, as a negative [and very negative] one.
what a joke !
I love the nomenclature for this campaign, "On the Line." I run The People's Own Organic Power Project (http://www.thePOOPproject.org), an organization that uses art, performance and humor to break through the cultural shame around a natural bodily function. This taboo extends to the entire posterior region, and contributes to the shyness many feel about going to the doctor for a prostate check. I'm glad this campaign utilizes familiar sports language to create a positive relationship with our nether regions.
Make sure you call Bob Knight "Coach" or else he might choke you.
Since they're here to "discuss college basketball," and not men's basketball, I'd love to hear their takes on the possibility of a Maya Moore (UConn)/Brittney Griner (Baylor) rematch in the NCAA finals.
Do they see the center of women's basketball shifting to Waco, or is it still firmly in Storrs (with people in Palo Alto screaming "bias!")
