Went to "An Evening with Roy Haynes" last night at Jazz at Lincoln Center. I felt truely honered to see him playing with both his band and the jazz greats. What at special night!
Correction: Ask Roy to comment ON Carmen McRae.
Ask Roy to comment to Carmen McRae.
I was introduced to Roy and his music in 1963. His endurance alone is a testament to his talents and musical gifts. His appearance on WNYC is clear evidence of the station's continuing good taste.
