Academy Award nominee and Tony Award winner Viola Davis discusses playing the role of Rose in the revival of August Wilson’s "Fences."
Directed by Kenny Leon and also starring Denzel Washington, the play is both a monumental drama and an intimate family portrait. It tells the story of Troy Maxson, a man torn between the glory of his past and the uncertainty of his future. “Fences” is playing at the Cort Theatre, 138 West 48th Street. I am so very proud of you Viola...
I was fortunate enough to attend high school / college with Ms. Davis and I can assure you she has not changed by all the much deserved attention.
All that grew up with her knew she would soar to great heights...hold on, because this is merely the beginning.
I love YOU Viola Davis- Id come to see you more than Denzel
A very honest answer about what/who is drawing the crowds, I think you are a brilliant actor in your own right and more people should know your name. No doubt after this play they will.
