Speaking of the mother in Saving Private Ryan. The actress was Kathleen Byron, who was so good in Powell-Pressburger's Black Narcissus, among many other films and TV shows. She passed away just a month or two ago.

Is there some irony in the fact Disney will now be distributing Dreamworks films? In films like Shrek, Dreamworks have lampooned Disney repeatedly with caricatures of John Lasseter and Michael Eisner.
