Who died and left you in charge of the universe? You know, if you are lucky you will get the chance to experience your own version of his many satisfactions and contributions, and your own version of changing times and contexts. This is a great interview. He is a tremendous contributor. Are you? A little respect, please!

Yes, contemporary art makes people angry, prepare to be really really angry when a beautiful, skillful new tradition comes to art, and you will be permantly old style, and and boring, boring, boring.
This is a fun interview, and I love Waters' take on the role of art and fashion.
(The other two commenters are grumps.)
I recently read New York in the 70s, anf there was Mr. Waters. As a young artist I believe that he is of the past. We are ready to move on to a new period of serious art on a firm tradition. No more random slashing. Goodnight, John, its been fun. Twombly is not cutting edge any longer.
